I know so many of you who receive my blog are enlightened beings and loyal to your meditation practice, but did you know that enlightenment can actually make you sexy? Maybe that got the attention of some of you who don’t practice!
My guest on the lovespeaks series podcast today is living proof that meditation makes you sexy. And in Val’s case, it can also save your life. Valerie Gangas, author of Enlightenment is Sexy: Every Woman’s Guide to a Spiritual Life, writes what she knows. After losing her mother and falling into a deep dark depression, Val found her way out through Transcendental Meditation and entered into what she calls her sexy and magical life.
The cool thing, as Val says, is that “this is for everyone.” Literally everyone can have this feeling. I know how much TM® has benefited my life, and while everyone responds to it differently, there is always something beautiful that accompanies the practice.
Being sexy is about being confident. Anyone lost their sex appeal lately? Not to mention hope with our nation’s current climate? I know I have. Maybe it’s the fear, uncertainty and anger we are feeling. Maybe it’s the constant quarantine snacking. Maybe it’s that I need up my meditation practice. Whatever your reasons are for feeling a little less like yourself, if you want the change that changes everything – listen to my conversation with Val and open up your world to all the magic that is waiting for you.
We get a little woo woo but hey, you know that about me by now. For those of you who may not be as woo woo as me, Val gives solid tricks and tips on living a happier life. And for those of you who could just use a really good nap, Val will tell you why TM® is the ultimate nap you could ever take, if you are willing to give up 20 minutes of your day.
I met Val when she was hired to work with the Chicago Transcendental Meditation team who were teaching Harpo staff members the practice in 2011. She spoke about her experience to Oprah and our Executive Producer, and after the conversation, Val recalls Oprah saying “I want what that girl has.” You’ll want it too!
