SPEAK
Love Your Story, Your Audience is Waiting.
Use your voice to step up your speaking game and your human game.
Speak is my gift of love to myself and to you.
When we love our stories and speak our stories, we feel our connection to others grow and we become happier humans. Speak offers practical takeaways for improving your speaking skills as well as a guide to loving yourself and others more deeply. To have a career we love, to fall in love, to love ourselves, and to love our story, we have to be willing to do the hardest work of our lives – we have to love. When we live our life with love, we become more comfortable with ourselves and we feel more joy. We laugh more, live more, speak more and forgive more.
This is my story. I hope it inspires you to speak yours. Your audience is waiting.
– Love, Sally Lou
Sally Lou Oaks Loveman, former audience producer for The Oprah Winfrey Show, lives her purpose by connecting with audiences. When she was age fourteen, she tuned into her passion for television when she was an audience member at The Mike Douglas Show. She spotted a woman on the set with a clipboard, and while she had no idea what this woman did, she knew she would do it one day too.
After her thirty-six-year career in television and having entertained over half a million people from the Oprah stage, Loveman shares her “do what you love” message through her business, lovespeaks. In her book Speak: Love Your Story. Your Audience is Waiting, Sally Lou takes on a new audience – an audience of readers. Just like her pre-show warm-up at The Oprah Winfrey Show, Speak is participatory. Readers are invited to join in on the lessons shared in each chapter, and by the end of the book, the reader has a start to their own story.
Blending the genres of memoir and self-improvement, Speak shares Sally Lou’s story while offering tips to help readers become better speakers and storytellers. Filled with humor and truth, Speak encourages readers to speak, speak up, speak their story, speak their truth, and live a life where love always speaks. It doesn’t matter if you are a CEO, a celebrity, a super model, a spin instructor, a student, or a stay-at-home-mom or dad, speaking well in front of others is not only a career asset, it’s also a life asset.

why we should all SPEAK our Stories
I treat every day like The Oprah Winfrey Show audience warm-up, whether I am on a stage or not. The world is my audience. It’s always show day. Try it for yourself. Practice your timing and wit on the people who surround you in your life. See them. Hear them. Celebrate them. And if you’re lucky, make them laugh. Once speaking becomes a daily practice of yours, you will learn to love public speaking.
